The reason I started using CleanShot is..
CleanShot X, one of the highly popular apps among Mac users, is currently on Christmas discount. About 6-7 years ago, I used to rely on an app called Monosnap, but I switched to the default Mac screenshot tool for quite some time. However, when I started my blog, I became interested in the CleanShot app, which offers various features, including annotation capabilities for screenshots.
Although there was a Black Friday sale, I missed it. While using CleanShot through the Setapp app subscription platform for about a week, I came across a discount offer through a Google search. Interestingly, it seemed like they were promoting the event more to existing customers through emails rather than on their official website. They are running a promotion where you can gift the app to a friend, and I took this opportunity to gift it to myself. The Christmas discount is available until the 25th of this month.

Proceeding with the purchase
You can proceed with the purchase by providing your name, email, and your friend’s name. The License for 1 Mac is for a single-device license, originally priced at $29, but now available at $19. The License for 2 Macs is for a two-device license, originally priced at $49, but now available at $34. In my case, anticipating usage within the family, I opted for the License for 2 Macs.
After clicking the ‘Purchase’ button, you’ll be prompted to choose your payment method and complete the payment. Once done, you will see the following screen.

After pasting the address into the address bar, the page displays the download link and license key. After downloading and entering the license, the authentication process is successfully completed.
In conclusion
While trying out the trial version for 7 days, I found CleanShot X to be exactly what I was looking for. Taking advantage of the Christmas discount, I decided to make the purchase. Although it’s not the cheapest, being a paid app, it offers many great features. I’ll explore its functionalities extensively and write a review post to share my experience. Looking forward to making the most out of it!
