Why should I use Earsafe?
I usually listen to a lot of videos and music with my AirPods Pro, and I have a habit of listening to them really, really loud.
Since a few months ago, I’ve been having a lot of problems with my ear health, such as ear infections and sudden hearing loss.
In principle, I should take plenty of rest and go to the hospital in severe cases, but I started looking for sound limiting apps to protect my hearing even in situations where I have to use them in my daily life.
In the case of iPhone, there is a function to limit the maximum volume through its own settings, so I am using it after setting it up, but I couldn’t find that function in macOS, so I had to rely on an app for help.
After Googling, I found a paid app. The app is called
Earsafe – Volume limit for Mac ($4.99)

Developers say you need it
Hearing loss is permanent: Yes. Hearing loss is irreversible. It will gradually deteriorate without you realizing it.
The nagging from family members about listening loudly is the same in every country. I was told to buy the app so that I could protect myself a little bit now.
I was immediately convinced and proceeded to purchase. lol

The great thing about this app is that you can set volume limits based on the connected devices. I tried it after limiting the volume to less than 30% of the maximum volume of each device, and even though 30% is not a small amount, I found myself habitually turning the volume up. (If you turn it up, it will return to the volume you limited.) If you go to the settings, there is a setting that prevents you from turning off the limit toggle through the parental lock, and an option to automatically launch the app when you log in to your computer, so you can use it according to your own situation. I’ll try to write more and report back and hopefully save my hearing for a while.
